I got up Sunday morning hoping to run that morning but when I looked at my watch I saw that I only had 30 minutes till church started so I jumped in the shower really quick. After getting ready really fast I saw that my watch was on a different mode and that I had three hours till church started haha. I had a good relaxing morning which was much needed. I went to church with Phil so I didn’t have to walk yay. Church was extra long it went till like 2. After church I went to the orphanage to work. We had lunch then Phil had planned a bike ride for all the older kids. The kids were so excited they had been talking about it for weeks. I got to go on the bike ride too so I was excited for that. We took seven kid’s age’s four to seven. The four year old had just gotten off his training wheels so he was very excited that he got to go this time. We set off on our journey and I would not call it a bike ride lol. We had a lot of stops because the younger ones kept falling and getting hurt. Rafael (the four year old) fell so many times I lost track but Phil was so awesome with him and each time he fell and started crying Phil would get off his bike pick him up and get him going again. The ground is sand which made it hard in some spots because the road would randomly have thick patches of sand which would freak out the kids because it would make them slide and slow down which caused some of them to freak out and fall. The older boys did awesome and when it was time to turn around they didn’t want to at all. Phil said that it was time to go back and if they made it back they could go get ice cream. That sure got them to go haha. We stopped at the local ice cream place and all the kids got to pick out an ice cream bar. They were all so excited they stuffed their faces with it.
I had to leave the bike ride after that because I had a soccer game. I got my uniform so I officially felt a part of the team. It was awesome and a lot different then what I am use to because its and indoor court. It goes a lot faster and it’s a lot more brutal. As long as you don’t use your arms you can pound the person in to the wall as hard as you want … it was AWESOME! We lost but it was so fun it didn’t even matter. It’s funny to me because everyone is yelling in Spanish but when I talk to Kari on the court I speak in English which is really cool because no one know what I’m saying. Oh the little things that entertains me.
After my game I came back and showered then Dory’s parents invited me to go out to eat with them in Guadalupe. Guadalupe is just the town over so it’s only like a five minute drive but it has more restaurants to choose from than Porvenir. They are so sweet and paid for my meal so that was really nice. We talked for awhile and I really got to know them more. What an awesome Christian family they are and it’s so great how much they support Dory and her mission here.
